The Country Garden Showcase #46

Welcome Back Gardening Friends
The weather here has been difficult this week so I have made very little progress outside. I did start making some wire cages to plant more fruit trees and ornamentals into for gopher protection, but that's about it.
My honeybees are bringing in the brightest yellow pollen when the clouds break.  On the ground there are forbs growing everywhere.  There's lots of native clover right now.  They sure enjoy it.  At our old property, (4,000 ft. elevation) these bees would not be venturing out this early.  There wouldn't be anything green covering the ground yet either.  I think things are going to be very different here, lower on the mountain and I am sure excited about that.

Something NEW...There are so many great bloggers writing helpful garden related post these days. I'd like to start something new to highlight the ones that I think have that extra something special to give our gardens a BOOST and INSPIRE us.
This week's FEATURED GARDEN post is one such post.  This post was written and shared by Clint of the blog The Redeemed Gardener.  In case you've missed it, he has created a helpful series of gardening posts about the importance of healthy garden soil and how to I.D. problems, fix them, and how to maintain soil fertility.

The series is titled: Great Soil is a Garden's Foundation, and this week he shares Part 3 of the series HERE.  Thanks Clint!  I have enjoyed the refresher course on soil health!

Wishing you another week of gardening success!

We are expecting snow again for the next 3 days... so I am off to daydream among the pages of seed catalogs.  Happy Gardening!

Don't be shy... Please LINK UP and share your gardening related posts below.

  1. Thanks for hosting this week. It's sounds like you're able to do a few things outside already...that's great! We usually don't have much opportunity until March, although I am thinking I could probably get some lettuces going here toward the end of March. Have a great day!
