UFO ROLL CALL- MAY 2012

Welcome to the
UFO Roll Call Home Sewing Arts Party
This linky party will be open all month long to make sure everyone gets the chance to link up and share their new handmade creations.

Please plan to join in the fun by linking up posts and sharing images of the sewing and quilting projects you've been working on this month.

This is a great opportunity to finish up all those UFOs and to start new projects too.

This blog party is open to both quilting and domestic sewing projects and is a great place to show off your next homemade apron, your blue ribbon quilt, a newly completed cross-stitch, or that new flannel quilt tutorial.

Drumroll please!!!  My hubby Jerry volunteered to pick our April winning entry today- and the winner is Dolly of Dolly's Designs for submission #3 Making Aprons.

Thank you Dolly for sharing your lovely embroidered aprons.  They're absolutely beautiful!  Look at the adorable machine embroidery clothesline detail on the pocket.  I love it.  I really like the high contrast rose colored bias binding finish too.  It's so feminine.

Dolly has a great talent for color and texture.  Just look at the images of her home, The Hibiscus House.  Dolly could be a professional designer, she's that good.  She has MANY talents, have you seen her Dolly is Cooking food blog???  Don't do it unless you love good food because just one look and you'll be hooked, I was.  Dolly CAN cook too.

I am happy to call her friend.  I wish we lived closer so I could pick her brain sometimes... Congratulations Dolly!  You always contribute such pretty ideas. Thank you.

I enjoyed reading each of the April submissions so much.  Ann of Suburban Prairie Homemaker entered two adorable mug mat tutorials.

The adorable Easter egg mug mat above was inspired by a pretty Easter card, the tutorial can be found HERE and this pretty little posy "Primitive Flower Quilted Mug Mat"

whose tutorial can be found HERE.  For anyone that doesn't yet know, Ann is an incredibly talented crafter, quilter, sewer, teacher and designer.  I believe that she can make anything she sets her mind to create from scratch and she has another special gift that appeals to me.  Ann writes and demonstrates often complex information using words converting them into  in plain English for those of us (like lyself) that are pattern challenged.   plan and make it all new in her own style, beautifully.  I wish I could do a little of what Ann does.  She's an inspiration to me with every post.  Thank you Ann for sharing your talent and sunshine with all of us here.

Becky of Petticoat Junction shared a fantastic skirt she made by re-purposing a thrift store mini skirt and some new trendy ruffled fabric.

I love it.  It's so cute and summery.  I look forward to Becky's next post.

Thank you for participating and for sharing such fun projects.
Mark your calendar!
Let's get this party started!  All you have to do to enter is LINK UP one handmade quilt or sewn project YOU made during the month, before midnight on the last day of the month.

Let's get to work on our next project to share with our sewing & quilting blog friends.  I'm feeling crafty and I hope you are too.

I am linking this post to a few of my favorite hops-
Deborah Jean's Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop
Amy's Homestead Barn Hop (on Monday)
& I will be linking to Lisa's Made from Scratch Blog Hop (next Saturday)
