Happy Friday...
I am very excited this morning, I just have to share our next small step (progress) toward going GREEN.
Where's Waldo, I mean RJ??? |
Can you see that young person on my roof in the image above??? He was fearless as he worked on my roof. Meanwhile, (as a Mother) my stomach was in knots with worry for him.
RJ took many measurements on the backside of the roof. That's where the panels will go. |
Jerry and I really liked the two young men that were sent out on behalf of our new solar company to complete the site audit. They were very professional. They were also very careful while doing their tasks. They left no messes on the roof or from the attic, and that's hard not to do when exiting an attic.
Both men looked us in the eyes and payed attention to our words during conversation; which is something that really impressed my husband because he sees it so rarely these days with young people. They responded thoroughly and thoughtfully to our questions, and were knowledgeable about their job, also a trait that endeared them to my husband.
Here, Brandon is inspecting our current public utility power meter to determine where best to place our inverter. |
Even their vehicle was GREEN. |
After the men were done with our site audit, they shook our hands, thanked us, and were on their way toward the next job. Every contact we've had thus far with this company has been a positive one. We're really impressed and excited to be going solar with them.
The data our team collected today will be taken back to the office and sent to architectural engineers to draw up and submit to our county planning/building department. My baby sister used to work there. Good people there too. If all goes according to plan, our panels will be installed and running by Christmas. What a gift that would be to me.
Getting off of coal and nuclear energy has been our goal for this project. It sure feels good to see things working in that direction. We could not have afforded this a mere decade ago, before a few brave investors/entrepreneurs decided to invest in becoming alternative energy power providers. I am so glad that they did.
